Since beginning her career in education in 2006 as a paraprofessional for 4th and 5th grades, Kamaria Korta has been passionate about teaching and inspiring young minds. Her experience motivated her to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Africana Studies. She now teaches Social Studies through the lens of social justice, encouraging her students to critically examine systemic racism and engage in “good trouble” as disruptors of inequity.

Her goal is to empower her students to question the world around them thoughtfully and courageously. She strives to make every day in the classroom an opportunity for students to think critically, advocate unapologetically, and explore their curiosity about the world.
